Security Clearance Evaluations

Screening those who safeguard secrets

We conduct psychological evaluations in support of security clearance determinations.

We conduct these evaluations at the request of government agencies and individuals when security vetting has uncovered a psychological condition of potential concern.

Eligibility for holding a security clearance includes consideration of a person’s stability, trustworthiness, reliability, discretion, character, honesty, and judgement. Among other factors, this includes determining whether the individual has a psychological condition that could affect their judgment or reliability, particularly in the context of their ability to follow rules and properly safeguard classified or national security information, or to perform sensitive duties.

When individuals report a mental health history of potential concern during security processing, our duly qualified psychologists conduct a Human Reliability evaluation to identify potentially disqualifying and or mitigating factors. These evaluations require both psychological testing and interview, undergo a quality control process by a second psychologist, and include recommendations inline with Security Executive Agent Directive 4 (SEAD-4) adjudication criteria.
