Karen Harris, Ph.D.
Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Harris is a licensed clinical psychologist. She served on Active Duty in the Air Force for 10 years and deployed in support of joint and coalition military operations overseas.
While in the Air Force, Dr. Harris delivered evidence-based individual and group therapy and managed a team of mental health professionals. She gained extensive experience conducting safety/risk assessments and psychological evaluations (e.g., special duty, fitness for duty, pre-employment, and security clearances). Dr. Harris also led multidisciplinary team responses to crises and major disasters. While deployed, Dr. Harris functioned as the sole mental health provider, supporting coalition forces during critical operations and ensuring the health and readiness of service members in high-pressure environments.
After completing a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in investigative and operational psychology with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Dr. Harris continued to provide behavioral science consultation to law enforcement and counterintelligence professionals in over 200 units worldwide. She also taught specialized courses and workshops for these professionals, completed comprehensive psychological assessments, and conducted behavior-based threat assessments to inform threat mitigation and management recommendations.
Dr. Harris completed her undergraduate degree in psychology and German at Georgetown University, her master's degree in psychology at George Mason University, and her doctorate in clinical psychology at George Mason University.
