Dr. Jon Moss, Ph.D. ABPP
Clinical Psychologist
Jon Moss received his Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina in 1976 and finished a two-year post-doctoral program in Clinical Psychology in 1978. He obtained his Virginia Clinical Psychologist License in 1982. Since that time, his practice has included providing mental health consultative services in both the private and public sector. He has been involved since 1986 with numerous public safety agencies, both local, and State, offering a wide range of mental health services. Dr. Moss provides clinical and consultative services to numerous federal agencies including DEA, the National Park Service, the US Park Police, and the US Fish & Wildlife agency. These services have included such activities as psychological assessments and evaluations, trauma intervention, psychotherapy, and management consultation. In 2001, Dr. Moss was certified as a Diplomate in Police Psychology by the Society of Police and Criminal Psychology. In October of 2011, Dr. Moss was among the first psychologists in the Country to become Board Certified in Police and Public Safety Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. Over the course of his practice, Dr. Moss has completed over 20,000 pre-offer, post-offer, and Fitness for Duty law enforcement assessments. Dr. Moss is a member in good standing in the International Chief’s of Police’s Police Psychological Services Section, the Society of Police and Criminal Psychology, and the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police and serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Police and Criminal Psychology
